From June 27th to July 1st, 2023, Hospices of Hope Moldova organized the eighth edition of the Hospice Bike Tour, a charitable cycling event that brought together enthusiastic cyclists and compassionate individuals from various countries. The aim of this event was to support individuals in the final stages of their lives and raise funds for the palliative care services offered by Hospices of Hope Moldova.
The event kicked off with an opening ceremony in front of the OTP Bank in Chișinău, the main partner of the event. After this, participants embarked on a memorable journey covering a route of over 800 kilometers. Destinations included impressive destinations such as Iași, Bicaz, Viscri, Sinaia, and Bucharest. With determination and passion, cyclists set out to raise 500 euros each through donations, to support incurable patients from different regions of the Republic of Moldova, and to contribute to the development of the free palliative care services provided by Hospices of Hope Moldova.
The conclusion of the event was marked by a special moment at the Casa Speranței Hospice for Children in Adunații Copăceni, Bucharest, where cyclists were warmly welcomed by the local team and Anna Perolls, CEO of Hospices of Hope. In her address to the participants, Anna expressed her gratitude for their valuable contribution to the palliative care in Moldova and emphasized the significance of this charitable campaign that unites compassionate individuals for a common cause.
Through this wonderful project, Hospices of Hope Moldova managed to raise over 500,000 MDL. Every contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
The Bike Tour 2023 was a great opportunity to bring local communities together, promote a healthy lifestyle, and support a noble cause. The funds raised through the participation in this event will be utilized to ensure palliative care services at the recently opened day center - Centrul Speranței Chișinău.
The charitable cycling route #HospiceBikeTour2023 is an annual campaign, organized by Hospices of Hope Moldova, with the main goal of raising funds for the development of free palliative care services in the Republic of Moldova. In this year's edition, the event benefited from the support and involvement of multiple supporters, including high-ranking officials such as H.E. Steven Fisher, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, and Mr. Ovidiu-Viorel Năftănăilă, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. at the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova, Hospices of Hope Moldova ambassadors, as well as beneficiaries of Hospices of Hope Moldova.

A two-day Pediatric Palliative Care course was recently conducted in Chișinău, with the participation of 29 healthcare professionals from the Hospices of Hope teams in Taraclia, Soroca, Orhei, Ocnița, and Chișinău. The course aimed to enhance the understanding of Pediatric Palliative Care concepts, phased symptom and pain management approaches, teamwork and patient-family communication, as well as the importance of self-care in palliative care.
Experienced and internationally recognized trainers in the field of pediatric palliative care, Julia Downing and Emily Harrop, were responsible for conducting the course. Julia Downing, the Executive Director of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN), holds extensive experience in healthcare and research. Emily Harrop, a consultant pediatrician and scientific researcher, has authored over 35 publications on care for infants, children, and young individuals with life-limiting conditions.
Chișinău, May 25, 2023 - Today, Hospices of Hope Moldova inaugurated the "Centrul Speranței Chișinău" day center, marking a pivotal moment in enhancing the quality of life for patients suffering from life-limiting diseases. The center aims to alleviate their physical pain, as well as improve their psycho-emotional well-being. The inauguration event took place at the newly opened day center on Iurii Gagarin Street 10, in Chișinău.
The opening of "Centrul Speranței," developed by the British organization Hospices of Hope Moldova, was attended by the Founder and CEO of the UK organization, Graham Perrols, and Anna Perrols, the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, the Ambassador of the UK, H.E. Steven Fisher, and the Ombudsman, Ceslav Panico.
On Saturday, May 20th, Hospices of Hope Moldova kicked off the eighth edition of the charitable cycling race, #HospiceBikeTour2023, with a launch event held at the "Centrul Speranței" Day Center in Chișinău. The primary goal of this charitable event is to raise funds to support patients in terminal stages and their families.
At the launch event, participating cyclists, event sponsors, and representatives from Hospices of Hope Moldova had the opportunity to interact before the cyclists set off towards the "Aripile Speranței" Day Center in Orhei, highlighting their commitment to the cause.
On Thursday, May 25, 2023, Hospices of Hope Moldova in partnership with Great Britain Embassy in Chisinau, will host a Spring Dinner – Gala of Hope in its newly opened Daycare Center "Centrul Speranței Chișinău". The opening of the Daycare Center in Chisinau is a long-awaited event, possible thanks to the efforts, dedication, and involvement of our partners, sponsors, and just simple people of good heart and faith.
Together with the British Ambassador in Chisinau, H.E. Steven Fisher, and Mr. Graham Perolls, Founder of Hospices of Hope UK, we are honored to extend the invitation to celebrate our achievements, the Spring, and the Hope for improved quality of life for people in palliative care.
The Spring Dinner: Gala of Hope is also a fundraising event, with all donations going directly to cover the needs of patients in palliative care and the free services provided by the Daycare Center "Centrul Sperantei Chisinau".
Charity Christmas Dinner has become a tradition for the charity organization Hospices of Hope Moldova. In partnership with the British Embassy in Chisinau, we would like to celebrate together with supporters, partners, friends - the successes of the current year, the progress in the development of the consolidation of palliative care free services in the Republic of Moldova and feast a magical evening dedicated to children and adults who are in life-limiting conditions and suffering from a severe illness.
At the dinner we will launch a campaign for the development of the Hospices of Hope Moldova Network for which we will start collecting funds right from the moment of the charity dinner. The funds from the project will go strictly for the development and consolidation of the National Network of Palliative Care Hospices of Hope Moldova.
This magic evening will be fulfilled by our partners Moldova National Youth Orchestra.
